After every wash I open the dishwasher to the smell of dishwasher detergent. The settings are available on most any other brand. It works fine if you rinse everything prior to cleaning.

I've had many dishwashers over the years. This is my favorite. My first love about this one: the 3rd flat, top rack!! No more plastic lids deformed from standing upright in the extreme heat, or squeezed between other dishes so they do not float around. No more extra long ladles and spatulas sticking up in the flatware bin so the top rack does not close. It is also quieter than my last DW. THANK. YOU! The room for a variety of pots and bowls on the bottom rack is very welcomed indeed...while the dishes in rack above still receive water with the THIRD extra sprayer between the top and bottom of the washer. I can lean against the door without accidentally starting the washer! The only thing that is unsettling is when I accidentally touch the TOP of the door where the controls are, as I pull it down to get to the racks... but its short melody is lovely to hear.

This was not the dishwasher we purchased, but the one we paid for was severely damaged in shipping to the store. The store upgraded our unit at no charge. I honestly didn't desire the third rack, so I was happy to see it could be easily removed if I have taller items for my upper rack.
